Dear Colleagues and Friends,
As you know this year we celebrated our 10th Annual Charity Trading Day, and yet again we have been staggered by your overwhelming generosity and support.
This year's Net amount raised was just over £400,000 which is an amazing achievement for which we thank you all.
We all know how harsh the current economic conditions are, and this make this total all the more remarkable. It is very heartening to know that in very challenging times for the Charitable Sector, these funds will have a huge impact. As with previous years, the primary beneficiaries of the Trading Day will be the Execution Charitable Trust (ECT) and Absolute Return for Kids (ARK).
The ECT specifically targets poverty and social exclusion and this year prime recipients will be Myeloma UK and Help a Capital Child, and further recipients will include Cabrini, The Great Ormond Street Hospital Children’s Charity, Cardboard Citizens and Missing People. To find out more about the work of the ECT and read our 10 year report from New Philanthropic Capital (NPC), click here:
ARK is one of the City of London's largest charitable organisations focusing on child health, education and protection in the UK and overseas. Your support will continue to make a real difference as they continue to transform the lives of children all over the world. I would like to thank ARK for their help in raising the awareness of our day. For a brief overview of their work click here:
As with all of our successful Trading Days, there is an army of people behind the scenes helping the day go smoothly. Being able to cope with larger volumes, and in no way compromise on execution or settlement quality, is something very few firms could achieve outside the bulge bracket, so well done! I would also like to give our dealing and operational teams a special mention for doing such a wonderful job throughout the day.
I would also like to thank all of the Trustees of the Execution Charitable Trust, who have held office at any time during the past 10 years, for their hard work and inspiration.
This year in particular I would like to thank NPC for compiling a 10 Year report on our core community initiatives, the team from Global Radio for making the day fun, and the Paternoster Chop House for making the evening even funnier.
Our 10th Annual Trading Day has also marked the first Espirito Santo Global Trading Day which included Portugal, Spain, Brazil and Poland was a also a resounding success and we look forward to working closely with them for the next 10 Years!
Once again, and on behalf of all the people that your generosity has touched, I sincerely thank all of our colleagues and customers for your continued support.

Execution Charitable Trust
Since our inception in 2001, we've raised over £10 million for local community organisations across the UK and further afield.
We've achieved this via our charity trading days, when the commission we've earned has been passed straight over to the Execution Charitable Trust. The Trust manages and distributes the funds with the help of New Philanthropy Capital.
Over the next few years, we hope to continue helping alleviate poverty, deprivation and suffering via a carefully selected number of gifts and donations.
Our sincere thanks to all of you who have supported our Charity Trading Days in the past. We hope that you - as well as those who haven't taken part yet - will support us again in the future, and share our sense of pride in being able to help others in some way.
Making a difference
We choose to direct our support to locally-run community organisations that make a difference to the lives of people in some of the most deprived areas of the UK. New Philanthropy Capital is engaged to find these charities, and ensure that your donations are used as effectively as possible.
We're proud of our choices, proud of the charities we support, and proud of our clients - without whom this would all be impossible.
